This limited edition collectable publication visualises an academic essay that explores the advantages and disadvantages of being an inhabitant of an urban and rural environment, written by Alister Scott, Alana Gilbert and Ayele Gelan for the Socio Economic Research Group (published by Die Gestalten Verlag), available exclusively at leading design gallery bookshops.


This 126 page hardbound book features fold out (poster style) pages and smaller pages that make this limited edition product a quirky collectable, typical of Die Gestalten Verlag’s various other experimental publications and illustrator’s monographs. Some of the smaller pages and double page spreads make the book an interactive experience; with smaller sized pages and folds that can be opened to reveal elements of illustration and imagery based on the various themes explored. The target audience of this product is aficionados of visual culture, design and illustration, and existing customers of Gestalten’s experimental publications and products, thus it would be sold in art and design gallery bookshops (eg. the Tate Modern bookshop, the Saatchi gallery bookshop, etc) rather than high street book retailers.
